Developers

From iFolder

The iFolder client for workgroup sharing is still under active development, with plans for release soon. If you are looking to help with the project, then you are in the right place. There are several ways to contribute.

If you are a developer and have interest in what iFolder can offer you, then climb aboard, grab the source and get started by reviewing the source and becoming familiar with it. Join our mailing lists and become involved with the Novell developers and others who are contributing.

We are constantly reviewing the work we'd like to complete, but for now, our list of To Do items for software development is small, but will grow in the future. We've developed a number of How To articles to guide you and make it easier to contribute.

Choosing to develop for iFolder has an added benefit, and that is Mono. The Mono project is also under active development and as it is being used by iFolder, you have the added benefit of using and testing Mono at the same time.

If you're a user and want to help create a quality product, then we'd love to have you contribute by using and testing our solution. Bugs are rarely found when the software goes unused, so using the software will help find and identify areas in the software that will need improvement. When you find a bug, please submit (https://bugzilla.novell.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=iFolder) it – just because you found it doesn't mean that others may have.

Also, if you're hacking iFolder, please join us on #ifolder on irc.gnome.org.

Happy hacking!
